A Pickleball Vacation to Venice, Italy with Pickleball Travel
I keep on returning to my beloved Venice. The first time I visited, about 3 years ago, I thought it might be novel to take a little stroll at midnight around Venice, where I had arrived a couple hours earlier to a hotel that I remember was comfortable enough, but with some really oddly placed stairwells. But hey, it had a sweet water view. So here I go walking alone down some random Venice side street. I have GPS, no problem I said. Well low and behold my old phone decided to play tricks on me, locking up such that I couldn't unlock it (turns out I needed to triple click the home screen button I guess). So here I go walking down quiet corridors in this maze of walkways lit with the moon's reflection off the water. I get lost, but surely my street is just beyond the next. For people who have experienced the uniqueness of Venice they can attest that there are many more dead-ends than open streets and as I find only the most random voices in European languages found deep inside restaurants and shops, I decide to continue because Venice is not that large right? I must be getting close. Well about two hours later, I finally came across a pizzeria with a waitress adept at seeing through my independence to my frustrated and exhausted soul. Needless to say, Venice is not for the faint of heart, willing to go it at night without GPS. Yet I will one day again do just that. I hope to take your group with me.
